"The rookie mistake. Doesn't that feel easier?"

There's this huge confusion that has spilled over from the powerlifting world to the Internet weightlifting world.

Powerlifters compete in the squat. They need to do everything it takes to make it feel easier so they can get more weight moving.

Weightlifters compete in the snatch and clean and jerk. We need to do everything to make that easier.

That's why there is really no need for a low or high bar squat argument. It shouldn't exist. This is the problem with marketing. It makes money when someone says something different. They sell this idea. And create a generation of weightlifting lovers that struggle to improve because of that misinformation.

I've already shown a video of a 112 snatch at 65kg by a guy that can't back squat even 140kg. Being strong at the squat means little, if you can't transfer it. Stop ego lifting in the squat. Make sure the squats can transfer to your lifting.

A weightlifter can benefit from a massive squat, if that squat is done in a form that can benefit the lifter.

A lifter will not benefit from a squat that shifts the weights to the heel because that's not how you snatch nor clean and jerk. The weight is always in the middle.

Stop training your posterior with a box squat. That's not your sport. There's something called, pulls and back extensions and glutes raises for that. This sort of movements, transfer. They will stand the test of time.

Those low bar squat, box squats, sit back squats won't. I'll believe it when the Russians and Chinese use it regularly but at the moment, I've yet to see that happen.
